Abstract

This paper analyzes the relationship between economic agglomeration and total factor production based on the data of Jing-Jin-Ji,Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta from 2002 to 2007.The empirical study shows that the influence of economic agglomeration on the production efficiency depends on the ratio of manufacture industry and service industry.Specifically, with the ratio of manufacture industry and service industry increasing, the positive effect of economic agglomeration on technology efficiency decreases, however, the negative effect of economic agglomeration on technology advance will be compensated in this process.Furthermore, when the ratio of manufacture industry and service industry belongs to a certain range, economic agglomeration will be beneficial to both technology efficiency and technology advance.
