About Han Zhen's Engagement in Buddhism and His Feature of Doctrine of Buddhism

Abstract

Most scholars hold that Han Zhen was a Buddhist and later converted to Confucianism.By reviewing historical data,the author of this paper finds out that Buddhism had a great influence on Han Zhen all his life,though he sometimes aired his critical views.He had a stronger Buddhism complex especially under the great influence of Wang Bi,his teacher.What he practiced mainly derived from the comprehensive Chan,i.e.Silent Chan.
