Abstract
Through the test of radiocarbon, granularmetric analysis, collapsibility and routine soil test etc, the basic characteristics of Liaoxi loess in Fuxing-Chaoyang Highway, Liaoning Province, are comparative analyzed. Meanwhile, variation characteristics of shearing pore water press, consolidation pore water press, shear strength and shear deformation are obtained through the triaxial shear test of the loess, then draw the conclusion that the internal structure and the composition of the Liaoxi loess determine its characteristics. Mechanics models about shear deformation curve of loess are founded, which indicates that the model of LIU Zu-dian is not suitable to describe the curves of brittle strain softening, while the empirical model proposed in the paper is more applicable.
