Effect of parental personality, maternal psychological and behavioral pattern during pregnancy on infant temperament.

Abstract
【Objective】To explore the effect of parental personality, maternal psychological and behavioral pattern during pregnancy on infant temperament. 133 couples and their infants were randomly recruited. Self-made questionnaire for the related factors of temperament was applied to investigate the maternal psychological and behavioral pattern. Esysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and National 4～8 Months Infant Temperament Questionnaire were used to evaluate the personality of parents and the temperament of infants respectively. The types of infant temperament were affected by working environment, working stress, the economic condition of family, mental damage during pregnancy, maternal P score and N score. Maternal N score also had significant effect on the dimensions of infant temperament. [Conclusion] To promote the psychological development of children, more attentions of pregnancy health care should be paid to the mood self-adjusting, the good qersonality training.
