Abstract

[Objective] To study hypertension prevalence and related risk factors for the disease control and prevention.[Methods] Totally 2 844 residents from 2 communities(urban and rural)in Zhejiang were selected by multistage randomized cluster sampling and investigated with questionnaire survey, physical examination and lab tests.[Results] The hypertension prevalence rate was 32.5% and standardized rate was 31.7% and similar between urban and rural area(P﹥0.05).The awareness, treatment and control rate were 58.1%,54.0% and 16.7% respectively and were higher in urban residents than those in rural(P﹤0.01).The main risk factors were age,overweight/obesity,family history and so on by using logistic regression analysis and only a little difference between urban and rural residents.[Conclusion] There are high prevalence rate of hypertension and low awareness, treatment and control rate in community residents. It is important to carry out community-based hypertension intervention focusing on the risk factors for the disease control and prevention.
