Abstract
Objective To assess the value of MRI in the diagnosis of primary leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava. Methods Two patients with primary leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava underwent MRI and 3D DCE- MRA on a 1.5T MR scanner and the characters were ana- lyzed. Results One has low signal on T1- weighted images and signal equal to soft tissue on T2 - weighted images in the inferior vena cava. The signal is not uniform. The inferior vena cava is widening obviously and has uneven abnormal enhancement;the other has high signal on T1- weighted images in the inferior vena cava widen obviously and has uneven abnormal enhancement. Images on 3D DCE- MRA can show the full view and extent involved of the sarcoma. Conclusion MRI combined with 3D DCE- MRA have important meaning in the diagnosis of primary leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava that can replace the traditional angiography to the first selective imaging method.
