Abstract
A regional alarm and monitor system is realized through CATV-network. Two-way data transmission is performed through the network and an alarm center is set up within a small region, and an alarm terminal is installed at the subscriber end. The system composition, operating principle, software and hardware are given. When alarm-case occurs, the alarm terminal transmits a signal to the alarm center, which includes address information, alarm situation, operating status of the alarm terminal and so on. Likewise, the alarm terminal can execute commands received from the alarm center, such as set-up alarm, shut-up alarm and status polling.
