Abstract
To exert the excellent tribological characteristics of carbon material,a two-ply paper-based friction material was successfully developed by paper making process. The thermal durability of the prepared material was investigated by TG-DTA analysis and the tribological performances were investigated with inertia friction tester and constant speed friction tester respectively.Additionaly, the static friction torque curve of such material was obtained for the first time. Results show that the two-ply paper-based friction material, which has excellent thermal durability, stable dynamic coefficient of friction, low wear rate and low ratio in static/dynamic fiction,is suitable to be used in high load condition.
