Abstract

In accordance with the relationship between flood discharge and the regulation at Lanzhou Section of the Yellow River, based on the analysis of such factors as the topography of the river valley, river regime, bed forming discharge, river bed changes and so on, the scheme of the feasible minimum channel width (300m) of the river training for floods discharging is put forward through experimental study on the model. The model experiment results show that the changes of river configuration are not remarkable and the river training works are suitable for the large floods. Constructive economic, social and environmental benefits will be obtained if this plan is put into effect.
