Abstract
timulus-response Compatibility is an important research field in contemporary psychology. The Simon effect is a typical spatial stimulus-response compatibility phenomenon. The paper reviews the studies abroad on the functional mechanism of this phenomenon in recent years by means of experimental researches, explains the traditional theories about Simon effect, the display-control arrangement correspondence hypothesis and the logical recoding theory about its reversal, and analyzes some discussions on this question. Then from the spatial attention and psycho-physiological perspective, the paper further explores the functional mechanism of the Simon effect and its reversal.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
