A new record genus and a new species of evacanthidae (Homoptera: cicadelloidea) from China

Abstract

The genus Vangama Distant was established in 1907. Formerly only one species was reported, namely, Vangama steneosqura Distant. In this paper the genus Vangama is recorded for the first time from China, and a new species is reported. The type specimens are deposited in the Guizhou Agricultural College.Vangama albiveina Li, sp. nov. (figs.1 - 6)Length (incl. teg.): 8.0-8.2 mm, 10.5-11.0 mm ; Length of vertex: 2.8-3.0 mm, 3.8-4.0mm.This species resembles Vangama steneosaura Distant, but is easily distinguished by the central longitudinal ridge of vertex not extending to pronotum, the markings of the tegmen different, and especially by the different structure of the male genitalia.Holotype , allotype , paratypes 5 , 1 , Guiyang (1100 m), Guizhou, 5- VI -1986, Coll. Li Zizhong, 1 , G uiyang, Guizhou, 5- Ⅶ - 1986, Coll. Zhou Li.
