Abstract
This paper expounds the use of an auxiliary plane in seeking the point of intersection between a straight line and a plane,using a comparative analytical method.First it will introduce the basic steps in seeking the point of intersection using a generalised position for the straight line;Secondly,using a specific illustrated example,it will explore some errors which commonly arise when not using the methord explacinde in part one.By comparitively analysing the methods outlined in parts one and two,the paper concludes that we must use the auxiliary plane to find the point of intersection.
