Writer Lu Xun organically fused the social phenomena that he profoundly perceived with traditional literary imagery, successfully created the social imagery of his essays, and used it as an important literary factor in the social criticism of his writings, especially his essays. This kind of social imagery in Lu Xun's essays not only involves exuberant ideological connotation, but also constitutes important revelation of the literary nature of his essays. His successful artistic expression heightens the artistic effects of his train of thought, recognition, inspiration, and aesthetic appreciation. Through investigating the artistic effects of the expression of social imagery in Lu Xun's essays, we can more profoundly appreciate the artistic brilliance of them and thus more firmly recognize the literary attribute of his essays.
