Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between EGF - R and uterine leiomyoma. Methods The ER, PR contents and EGF - R levels were determined by immuno - histochemistry and FCM method in 28 patients with uterine leiomyoma and myometrium (control). Results The ER, PR contents and EGF - R levels in leiomyoma were significantly higher than those in the myometrium ( P 0.01); There was positive correlation of ER/PR content versus EGF - R level in uterine leiomyoma. Conclusion The EGF -R may play an imptortant role in leiomyoma enlargement; estrogen and progesterone may affect the expression of EGF - R in leiomyoma.
