Abstract
Through the comparison and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of several broadband access technologies such as ADSL,Cable Modem HFC,active optical network and passive optical network etc.,it is considered that FTTH using the EPON technology is suitable for the high-end users who have the plenty of data requirements.The transition way of EPON+LAN can be used in the dense user district where category 5 cable is provided.The best broadband access way is the GPON for the high-end users who have a large number of data and voice long-term needs.It is pointed out that the GPON is the mainstream broadband access technology in the future.
