Abstract
Objective To compare clinical spine(thoracic vertebra and lumbar vertebra) radiographys of a amorphous selenium flat-panel detector digital radiography system and a computed radiography system.The comparision was based on an observer preference to study image quality and visibility of anatomic structures.Methods Thirty pairs of spine radiographys were analyzed on video monitor(2 048×2 560×8bit).In each pair,one radiography was obtained with amorphous selenium flat-panel detector digital radiography system,and the other radiography was obtained with computed radiography system.Each pairs of radiographys was obtained at same exposure index(EI).Observer preference was evaluated for the image quality and the visibility of 12 anatomic structures using a five-point scale.Results(1)There was no difference between the images quality of the two system(P0.05).(2) The visibility of 3 anatomic structures of the images obtained with the amorphous selenium flat-panel detector digital radiography system were significantly superior to those obtained with the computed radiography system(P0.05).Conclusion The image quality and visibility of anatomic structures on the images obtained by the amorphous selenium flat-panel detector digital radiography system were equal or superior to the images from the computed radiography system.
