The exploration of the Chinese characteristic socialist development path which began with Mao Zedong,after many setbacks,was finally brought up by Deng Xiaoping.In April 1956 Comrade Mao Zedong'sOn Ten Big Relationswas his representative works about the socialist construction question,was the start to explore the construction of the Chinese characteristic socialist road.The Eighth Convention symbolized the Communist Party's exploring of the Chinese construction socialist path yielded its preliminary result.The Party's Eighth Convention's correct route and its specific policies formed the preliminary foundation of our country's socialist construction path.Afterwards,being lack of experience,we gradually violated the route ofemancipated mindandthe realistic thought,and departed from the Eighth Convention's correct routes and policy.Our Party had suffered from theleftfault in the guiding ideology,which caused our country's socialist construction enterprise to suffer the serious setback.It was not until the occurrence of Deng Xiaoping's Theory that we then found to suit the Chinese national condition and the socialist road and realized our country's socialist modernization
