Abstract
The existing headway model is discussed. Based on the headway data research of the two lane highway in our country, an improved M3 headway distribution is presented. When the headway of the major streams of the unsignalized intersection fit the improved M3 headway distribution, the capacity formula of the minor stream is developed. The relationship of the capacity of intersections with the major vehicle flow is educed, thus providing the basis for intersection appraisal and management.
