Abstract
The problem of hybrid reliability analysis of structures with random and interval variables is investigated.On the basis of the probabilistic reliability model,a new probabilistic and non-probabilistic hybrid reliability model of structures is proposed.The ratio of the strength to the stress is defined as the random-interval safety factor.The probabilistic reliability for random-interval safety factors exceeding unity is suggested as the measure of structural hybrid reliability.To demonstrate the compatibility among the hybrid reliability model,the probabilistic reliability model and the non-probabilistic reliability model,two specific cases of the hybrid reliability model are discussed.Two examples are utilized to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the hybrid reliability model.
