Abstract

Objective To establish the reference curve for speed of DV blood flow in fetuses during the first trimester of pregnancy. Methods Color Doppler ultrasonography was used in this prospective cross-sectional study for examination of 800 normal singleton pregnancies at 11~14 weeks of gestation. The following variables of DV blood flow were measured: S-peak,D-peak,A-wave,PI,RI and S/A ratio. Results S-peak(30.26~36.46 cm/s),D-peak(24.71~30.62 cm/s) and A-wave(11.13~14.33 cm/s) were increased with the advance of gestational age(P0.01).PI(0.84~1.66),RI(0.64~0.67) and S/A(2.71~3.11) showed poor correlation with gestational age(P0.05).Conclusion Zero or RA wave was discovered in 27(3.3%) fetuses. The speed of S-peak,D-peak and A-wave in DV blood flow was increased with the advance of gestational age, while PI,RI and S/A have no significant change.
