Abstract

[Objective] To study the status of indoor air formaldehyde contamination among residential apartments after decoration and the law of change.[Methods]From March 2008 to June 2009,10 newly decorated residential apartments were sampled in Liyang city to conduct indoor air formaldehyde concentration test for 12 consecutive months.[Results]The average indoor air formaldehyde concentration(mg/m3) in 10 residential apartments was 0.004 before decoration,and 0.196,0.200,0.155,0.115,0.089,0.078,and 0.072,respectively on the day upon completion,2 months after completion,4 months,6 months,8 months,10 months,12 months,with statistical difference in formaldehyde concentration testing(P0.05);the passing rate of formaldehyde was 5.00%,12.50%,32.50%,52.50%,72.50%,90.00%,and 95.00%(P0.01) on the day upon completion,2 months after completion,4 months,6 months,8 months,10 months,12 months.The passing rate of indoor air formaldehyde concentration was 50.00%,48.71%,42.86%,and 58.57% respectively(P0.05) for the living room,bedroom,study,kitchen.[Conclusion]The average indoor air formaldehyde concentration in Liyang city reach the indoor air quality standards requirements,and the formaldehyde concentration is decreasing with time.
