The design and attitude analysis of a subsurface buoy for deep sea current profiling

Zhu Su-lan

Open publisher page 4 citations

Abstract

Combined with the application of deep sea current profiling, some issues which should be noticed in designing subsurface buoys were introduced. The steps and simplified methods to calculate a static force on a subsurface buoy and the attitude of the buoy was presented in this paper. In terms of the measurement requirements, position and pitch of each component of the buoy as well as the buoyance and anchor weight of the buoy were calculated under the assumed background current profile.
