RESEARCH ON THE ECOLOGICAL FUNCTION REGIONALIZATION OF CHUXIONG PREFECTURE

Ecological function regionalization is the foundation of conservation,construction and scientific management of the regional eco-environment.Ecological function regionalization of Chuxiong Prefecture was carried out based on ecological function regionalization of Yunnan Province.Remote sensing,GIS and space simulation techniques were used to the research with consideration of natural and human factors.Accordingly,the study area was divided into 2 eco-regions,9 sub eco-regions and 17 eco-functional zones.Upon completion of ecological function regionalization,according to the basic pattern of the relationship between man and nature,and the needs of management of macroscopical eco-environment,different types of the ecological function zones were coordinated and merged.Chuxiong Prefecture was divided into ecological function zones for providing agricultural products,ecological function zone for providing forest products,ecological function zone for protecting biodiversity,ecological function zone of soil conservation,ecological function zone of water conservation,ecological function zone of agriculture and market towns.Every type zone of ecological function was summed up,major ecological problems and directions of ecological protection were clarified in every zone.
