An Analysis of the Educational Functions of Tujia Hand-waving Dance

Abstract

Tujia Hand-waving Dance is a kind of folk dance quite popular in the areas densely settled by Tujia people,and it also epitomizes the traditional Tujia folk culture.With a perspective of educational anthropology,the author discusses the educational functions of Tujia Hand-waving Dance so as to realize individuals' socialization,the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture,and finally puts forward some suggestions on how to save,protect,pass on and develop this traditional cultural heritage.
