Discussion on the Strategies and Purchasing Situations of Foreign Periodicals in University Libraries

This paper discussed the purchasing situations of foreign periodicals in the university libraries,and accordingly put forward some strategies on the bases of the existing problems.Thereafter,the continuity is prerequisite to purchasing the leading periodicals in the future.At the same time,the databases of the network electronic periodicals were prioritized to increase the rates of purchasing and collection.The goals of corporate construction and shared resources of foreign periodicals were achieved in all of the national university libraries with the reinforcement of inter-library collaboration and the integration of network information.
