Abstract
In order to solve the problem of lower efficiency of common testing equipment, the ground penetrating radar(GPR) has been used for testing the hydraulic structures. The principle of GPR are introduced. The application status and existed problem of GPR in field of civil engineering test are analyzed. The aim and significance of research in this field are stated. The application of GPR plays an important significance for promoting testing level and technology of whole water transport field.
