Cultural factors on forming the scholars group in Yi-tang of early Qing Dynasty

Abstract

Scholars group in Yi-tang is the most famous one of adherents who had definite corporate consciousness in Ming and Qing dynasties.As to the causes and purposes of their gathering,on the one hand,they wanted to be saved from the turbulent situation through dwellling in the peak of Cui-wei mountains with commanding position.On the other hand,they were influenced by the customs of scholar associations and academic lectures,and inherited the habits of gathering for romantic grace,literary appreciation and academic discussion.The above analysis may help us better understand the connotations of scholars' gathering in the early Qing Dynasty.
