Abstract
Lycopene and citrulline content of 9 materials of pure diploid mini-watermelons cultivars and homologous tetraploid mini-watermelons were determined by Spectrophotometry.The results showed that compared with the diploid,lycopene and citrulline content of homologous tetraploid mini-watermelons were increased along with the increase of ploidy.Among which,the highest lycopene content was PI4,increased 28.27%.And the highest citrulline content was PI8,increased by 19.12%.There was a correlation between lycopene content and flesh color,and bright red fleshred fleshpink fleshyellow flesh.Citrulline content of mini-watermelons yellow fleshbright red flesh and red fleshpink flesh,between bright red flesh and red flesh was no significant difference,and among other materials had reached significant levels.
