Subcontinental Regional Cooperation:from the Construction of Regional Identity to the Making of Regionalism

The identity of geo-space replace of the identity of ideology in the post cold war era. As the further deepening of economic globalization and political multi-polarization,regional cooperation has become the main means of further development and action target for each country. However,India and Pakistan,as the two largest countries in subcontinent,have never realized the normalization of their relations due to historical and geo-political factors,which impedes the development of subcontinental cooperation. By building stable relations between India and Pakistan,promoting institutional construction,building confidence and fostering regional identity,subcontinental countries can realize regional integration through security cooperation. To realize security cooperation in subcontinent relies on India's recognition of identity in south Asia and the establishment of its self-awareness of participation in subcontinental regional cooperation.
