Abstract
The inhibitors of the human cytochrome P450 1B1 (CYP1B1) were summarized. CYP1B1 is a major enzyme in carcinogenic metabolism of estrogen and in the metabolic activation of procarcinogens of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). It expresses in various human cancers at a high frequency,but not in normal tissues. CYP1B1 also affects the metabolism of various anticancer drugs. These findings suggest that inhibition of CYP1B1 may be a new oncological therapeutic strategy.
