Abstract
The physiological response of the seedlings of radish(Raphanus sativus L.) varieties Youbai No.1 and Baiyuchun to selenium(Se) under high temperature stress was studied through pot experiment. The results indicated that when the concentration of Se was below or equal to 0.9 mg/kg,the contents of total chlorophyll, soluble protein, soluble sugar and malondialdehyde(MDA) in the leaves of radish were increased. While when the concentration of Se was over 1.2 mg/kg,their contents were decreased. It was concluded that treatment with suitable concentration of Se could slow down its damage to radish seedlings, promote their growth and raise their tolerance to high temperature.
