Abstract
[Objective]To study the expression of integrin α_5β_1 and VEGF in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and its relationship with clinicopathological characteristics.[Methods] The expression of integrin α_5β_1 and VEGF was examined by immunohistochemistry technology in 53 cases of NSCLC and 12 normal lung tissues.[Results] The expression of integrin α_5β_1 and VEGF(58.49%,75.47%) in NSCLC tissues was significantly higher than that of normal lung tissues(16.67%,25.00%),and the differences both had statistical significance(P0.05).The expression of integrin α_5β_1 was positively correlated with clinical stage(P=0.042) and lymph node metastasis(P=0.020) and negatively correlated with pathological grade(P=0.031).The expression of VEGF was positively correlated with clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(P=0.017 and 0.002,repectively).No correlation was observed between VEGF and the other clinicopathological factors(P0.05).[Conclusions] Overexpression of integrin α_5β_1 and VEGF can contribute to the invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.The two factors may interact in the genesis and progress of NSCLC.
