Abstract

The heroine,Wang Qiyao,is a spokenwoman of Shanghai culture in A Song of Everlasting Sorrow written by Wang Anyi,and she can represents a meaning of the form in the novel.She is the medium linking the unimportant and the important,which embodies that the females make great efforts to be from the unimportant to the important and the author's persuit from form to meaning in the works.
