Abstract
This article describes the design of a PCI expansion card built around the TI's TMS320VC5402fixed-point DSP.The expansion card consists of several functional units. The first is the memory interface composed of a1Mbit static memory and a32k×16bit EEPROM program booting memory. The second is the interface between DSP and PCI,which is realized with the TI PCI2040PCI bridge. The PCI2040provides direct slave PCI functions by interfacing with the of TMS320VC5402HPI (host port interface)The third is an emulator connector used to debug the system. The system can perform a high data trausfer rate between the DSP and PC.
