Abstract
Objective To summarize the clinical experience in treatment of end-stage liver diseases with piggyback orthotopic liver transplantation.Methods The clinical data of 2 patients with posthepatitic liver cirrhosis treated with piggyback orthotopic liver transplantation were analyzed retrospectivey.Results One patient died and the other still lives.Complications included intraabdominal bleeding in 1 cases,kink of posthepatic in ferior vena cava (IVC) in 1, acute rejection in 1, pulmonary infection and respiratory failure in 1.Conclusion The liver transplantation is an effective means in treatment of end-stage liver diseases.Prevention of complications is extremely important for successful liver transplantation.Early diagnosis and correct management depend upon the knowledge of time and symptoms of corresponding complications following liver transplantation.
