Abstract
A modified Smith predictor is proposed for the first order and/or second order stable/unstable process with integrator, which is with long dead time. The setpoint response can be separated from the disturbance response with the new Smith predictor, and the problem that the precise math model for the process is hard to find in the real time control is solved with the parameter identification method. The analogous and digital simulation proves that this proposal is an useful method in the engineering application.
