A Study on the Meanings of Two Words in The Book of Songs

Abstract

The Two Chinese characters 翱翔(pronounced gao xiang) in The Book of Songs refer not today's flying in the sky but man's travelling freely in ancient time.The two characters 昭假(pronounced zhao jia) don't always mean get to in ancient books but in most cases show or inform.In ancient time,the word 昭假 usually means officially announce or notice something the public.The meaning of the two words is often misunderstood.
