Abstract

The paper outlines the history from proposal to consummation of rice core germplasm breeding in five parts, including conception of core germplasm(CG) and core germplasm breeding, construction of ideal model of plant type and quality of CG, creation of new CG, molecular breeding of CG, CG breeding through aided selection by specific secondary metabolite. The approach to rice core germplasm breeding is advanced.
