Abstract

Research progress on the riverine organic carbon cycle was summarized in the paper. The sources of the riverine organic carbon include allochthonous and autochthonous, and the radiocarbons of 13C and 14C in the riverine organic matter are important tracers for the origins of the riverine organic carbon. The contents of the riverine organic carbon were obvious space-season distinction by the reason of climate, terrain and vegetation. The output of the riverine organic carbon was influenced by many reasons, where flow deep, organic carbon in soil and biomass in per area were the very significant. The erosion-output of the riverine organic carbon was changing acutely due to the anthropogenic disturbance. The exportion and the biogeochemistry cycles of the riverine organic carbon were changed directly because the hydrology and waterpower were changed by the reservoirs.
