Abstract
In order to verify the applicability and validity of ABAQUS/Explicit in reinforced concrete (RC) structures simulation,a comparison between ABAQUS/Explicit and ABAQUS/Standard is carried out. The comparison scope includes the iteration algorithm and computation time. Moreover,a RC cantilever is set as an example to explain the differences between these two analysis methods. It is verified by investigating on the load-deflection curve that RC structures can be simulated by ABAQUS/Explicit if the parameters are set reasonably. The different energy histories simulated by ABAQUS/Explicit are advised to estimate the stability of simulation.
