Clinical Analysis of 115 Patients with Drug-induced Liver Disease

Objective To expand the knowledge of drug-induced liver disease by analyzing the etiology and clinical features of 115 patients with drug-induced liver disease.Methods Totally 115 cases with drug-induced liver damage admitted to our hospital from 2005 to 2008.They were reviewed to their drug history,clinical symptom and signs,liver function test,serum viral markers and therapeutic effect.Results A variety of drugs could cause liver disease.The offending agents could be calssified as follows: traditional Chinese herb medicine(21.74%).antituberculotic drugs(17.39%),anti-inflammatory(13.91%).antimicrobial agents(13.04%) And of 115 cases 53.9% was calssified as hepatocellular type,23.5% as cholestatic type and 17.54% as mixed type.The main clinical manifestations were fatigue nausea vomiting and jaundice.Most of 115 cases had better prognosis.Conclusion A variety of drugs can induce liver disease,and the clinical fatures are of no specificity.To control the drug indication strictly and monitor liver function should be effective measures for prevention.
