Abstract

Objective To compare the effectiveness of granisetron plus metoclopramide and monotherapy granisetron to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Methods 46 patients who were receiving included cisplatin chemotherapy were randomly divided into two groups.one group of patients were given granisetron 3mg at 30 minutes before chemotherapy and 8 hours after chemotherapy.Another group were given granisetron 3mg at 30 minutes before chemotherapy and given metoclopramide 10mg at 8 hours after chemotherapy. The percentage of no vomiting attack were observed during the acute phase, delayed phase and both phase. Results There was no statistically significant difference of no vomiting attack during the acute phase, delayed phase and both phase(P 0.05).Conclusion Granisetron joint metoclopramide is an satisfactory clinical antiemetic program.
