Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the pain relief effectiveness and safety of combined-epidural labor analgesia(CSEA).Methods: All of 300 pregnant women were administered by combined subarachnoid and epidural analgesia during labor(study group). And other 300 pregnant women were not administered any labor analgesia(control study). The degree of pain, duration of labor, methods of delivery, bleeding volume as well as neonatal APGAR Score were observed. Results: The pain relief effectness amounted to 100% in the observed group. The active phase of the study group was significantly shorter than that of the control group(P0.01).No significant differences between both groups in the methods of delivery, bleeding volume and neonatal APGAR Score(P0.05) Conclusion: Labor analgesia was safe and effective, which had no influences on mothers and infants.
