Abstract
Pedestrian traffic is the important part of urban traffic system and the safety of pedestrian crossing becomes an intensive focus in present society. As for the mixed traffic, the influence between the pedestrians and the vehicles results in traffic jams.To improve capacity and reduce pedestrian crossing time of mid-block,the signal setting of the typical section of the road was showed in the paper by comprehensive consideration of mid-block pedestrian crossing and intersection traffic. On this basis, the present traffic situation and the optimization scheme were compared based on traffic simulation. The outcome of simulation showed that the optimization scheme was feasible and effective.
