Abstract
For the steel frame structures, a study is carried out on the relationship between the lateral limit load capacity and the story lateral stiffness considering the vertical load's effect on the column's limit moment, P-Δ effect and yielding strength of steel. After statistical calculation and analysis, a series of formulae are obtained for evaluating the lateral limit load capacity subjected to uniform lateral load and inverted triangle lateral load.
