Clinical Effect of Transnasal Intestinal Tube Insertion on the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Postoperative Adhesive Intestinal Obstruction

Objective To discuss the curative effect of transnasal intestinal tube insertion on the treatment of elderly patients with postoperative adhesive intestinal obstruction.Methods 140 cases of elderly patients with postoperative adhesive intestinal obstruction admitted in our hospital from January,2009 to September,2011 were selected and divided into the treatment group and the control group with 70 cases in each according to different treatment methods.The treatment group was treated with transnasal intestinal tube insertion,and the control group was treated with ordinary nasogastric decompression.The remission of clinical symptoms and cure rate of the groups were compared.Results The treatment group's cure rate was 84.28%,obviously higher than the control group's 44.28%,the difference was statistically significant.The gastrointestinal decompression of the treatment group was better than that of the control group,the time of vomiting,recovery exhaust and defecation,level of liquid and gas disappearing were shorter than those of the control group.Conclusion In the treatment of elderly patients with postoperative adhesive intestinal obstruction,transnasal intestinal tube insertion can increase the efficacy and the cure rate more significantly than ordinary nasogastric decompression.
