Abstract
A type of large-breadth-flat-bottom ship form is studied in this paper, since the bottom of ship bow is vulnerable to slamming load and consequently high frequency vibration of the hull is induced when sailing in bad sea state. For irregular ship form, slamming load is analyzed through theoretical calculation, model test, and target ship surveying. And theoretical formula is presented for forecasting the slamming load of complex ship form by combining theoretical research with experiment. The conclusion indicates that ship form, speed and sea state are the three major factors related to slamming load of the target ship form.
