Abstract

The role played by functional groups of Laminaria japonica treated by methanol and formaldehyde in biosorption of the heavy metals was investigated Infrared spectroscopy analysis and biosorption experiments show that carboxyl and amidogen groups join in sorption; chemical treatment decreased the biosorption of the heavy metals
