Abstract
Objective:To explore the therapeutic effect of bronchial arterial chemoembolization in central pulmonary carcinoma. Methods:25 patients were diagnosed pathologically. Angiographic studies of the selective bronchial arteries were performed to provide for tumor and arterial maps in all patients with primary lung carcinoma. A 3-F catheter was coaxially placed directed into the artery feeding the tumor. Iodized oil mixed with 100mg cisplatinum was injected under fluoroscopic control through the arteries supplying the tumor. Results:The bronchial arteries were the main arteries supplying the lung carcinomas. After arterial RSM infusion combined with chemoembolization, clinical symptomatic improvement rate was 100%. No severe complications occured. One-year survival rate was 72.00% (18/25). Conclusion:Bronchial arterial chemoembolization may have high clinical effective rate for pulmonary carcinoma.
