Abstract
Vast quantities, various shapes and different sizes of electronic components on printed circuit board(PCB) lead to complicated process of meshing and huge number of meshes, therefore, the modeling of electronic equipment becomes extremely difficult. Based on equivalent Young's modulus, an equivalent modeling method is presented. This method makes the PCB equivalent to the base plate with uniform mass and equal thickness. Equivalent Young's modulus expressions of the ith PCB's modal and the multistage frequency derived from the least squares method were given by applying unit equivalent Young's modulus model. Besides, the effect of contact area and height of components to equivalent Young's modulus is studied. A case simulation shows that the process of modeling is greatly simplified and the number of meshes is significantly reduced with this equivalent method.
